The sun sent a scorching heat down in the beautiful landscape of Thoeris's backyard also known as the courtyard.. Wondering the pathway through the lush and beautiful grass and flowers was Zahra, her arms were locked behind her, one hand resting in the palm of the other, her dress hung low to the ground and her long, silky black hair tumbled lazily over her shoulders.. Her caramel brown eyes angled forward, but seemingly in a trance.

Atum stepped out into the Courtyard, his soft gaze scanning his surroundings until he caught sight of whom he was looking for. He let his hands fall to his sides as he made his way towards the young woman. "Zahra," he said as he came up behind her, he spoke her name in a soft voice.

Hearing her name, she turned her head and place her gaze on Atum, a soft smile touched her lips, after realizing it was him who spoke her name.. "Hello Atum, How are you this afternoon?" she had paused in her walk to wait for him.

He smiled a toothy smile. Something he rarely did. He soon caught up to her before answering Zahra's question, "I'm doing well," he said in reply "and you?" He rested his gaze on her pretty face as he waited for them to start moving again and for the young woman to answer his question.

"I'm doing well, it's such a beautiful day today." she smiled brightly, shutting her eyes she tilted her face upwards, allowing the sun to beat down on it, after a short moment she looked back at you.

Atum smiled, grateful that she was in such a lovely mood and state of mind. At least it seemed that way. "Yes, it's a beautiful day." he grinned before emitting a sigh. "I've come to let you know that I've received word from a few Village People from Berenice." he frowned. "Apparently their Queen is treating them badly."

Her smile turned into a frown. "How do we stop her?.. Or help our people at least" she tiled her cranium to the side in thought as she thought deeply about your words.. Folding her arms across her chest.

He looked down, "Well as of right now, there is no way of stopping or helping our people." Atum said as he lifted his head to look at her. "The water should be rising and will be too dangerous for us to go or send anyone to Berenice and as you know, it would take almost two months if we were to go all the way around towards Cabar and then to Berenice."

She nodded her head and took your hand in yours. "then we will pray for our people to have the strength to with stand their queens rein." her gaze was gentle as was the touch of her hand. "Our people are strong Atum., after all, they have you as an emperor"

He smiled, feeling his cheeks feel flush with blood. He gently squeezed her hand. "I know." he said as her released her hands. "I just hope they can deal with it a while longer.." he said but then smiled to Zahra again.

Allowing her hand to fall to her side, her cheeks burning. "I believe they will, as long as they have hope Atum." her gaze was soft as it met his.

He gave her a little nod before turning his back towards her. "I'm sure they do and will until this Queen is taken care of. I'll be in my room if you need me." he said as he closed his eyes for a brief moment before walking back into the Palace, he could feel his heart pounding quickly.

She watched, searching for words to make him stay but sadly found none that were worth saying. /why can't I just confess.../ she thought to herself as her smile faded from her face.
